Half Marathon Playlist

Well, here it is. It’s been road tested and personally approved for use on Saturday. This has been 6 months in the making and I think I finally have it with just the right songs at just the right time. As I have stated before, it’s more about pace and beat than it is about content. Let’s hope it works….

I’ve found that every single time I go out for a run my tastes change. My finger is constantly on the “next” button.

It’s pretty emblematic of my life actually. :)

No doubt Mudpuppy. These are the ones that have stood out to me and I noted made me keep up that pace. I have been fascinated by the way my pace is dictated by the song that is on at the time. These should do the trick. Hopefully I’m not still on the course by the time I reach song 40 and beyond. Might need to start the playlist over if that is the case…

I was thinking you should delete one song so you’d have to speed up not to finish the playlist before you’re done. :)

We’re planning a 5K event here in Tecumseh for June.

I’m pretty happy with the 5K distance, but eventually I’ll be dabbling in the 10K and maybe half.

Best I can guess, I should wrap up this thing anywhere between Shaggy’s “Hope” and Eminem’s “Cleaning Out My Closet” which would be appropriate as I plan on leaving some baggage on that trail and crossing the finish line renewed. “Forgetting what is behind….”

I’m insane, but actually scheduled a 4 miler next Saturday on the front 9 of Tartan Fields in Dublin, Ohio. http://www.cincodemayofour.com/. It’s more of a fun run than anything else.

    To quote Springsteen….”Tramps like us…..”

    Congrats! I’m excited for you..

When I trained for my 1/2 marathon I’d always listen to music, but for the actual race, I didn’t. I’m glad I made that decision as it was fun to hear the crowd cheering and just taking in the different noises for the event. The adrenaline of the event, easily makes up for not having the tunes.. Just food for thought!

Looking forward to hearing about your experiences, its been fun following your training. Blessings..

Thanks Troy. There is no humanly possible way I can do this without my tunes. The pitter-patter of feet and sound of me breathing heavy for 2 hours could drive me insane. I’ll update sometime Sunday or Monday when I recover :)

Thanks for sharing the journey and encouraging!

A little Toby goes a long, long way. Sorry you’re not doing this thing with me JK. Maybe in the fall? Wait….that means I have to do this AGAIN.

    How about a 5K?
