I never realized it, but for at least the first few months of 2010, every month got a little better. May was no different. We continued our 4 Half Marathons in 4 Different Cities in 4 Straight Weekends by running in Columbus, Indianapolis and wrapping it all up in Cleveland (click cities for re-cap posts on each one). Each one was special and each one was different. We stayed and ran with new friends in Indianapolis which has proven to be a lasting and special friendship to me. In Cleveland, I ran the 1/2 marathon by myself in honor of my Mom. It was good to run the streets of my hometown one more time.

One of the more tragic events of May happened just one week after we left our friends in Nashville. Through the power of twitter, I witnessed the events of the tragic flood and the reactions of friends there. We also witnessed the human spirit and Nashville rise to help herself. Churches like Crosspoint in Nashville led the efforts to help those in need. I just happen to have reviewed the book “Plan B” by the Pastor of Crosspoint the week that the floods hit.

I blogged about leaving a church

Even now, one of my most “hit” posts was my “Half Marathon Lessons Learned

I asked if we were just “Keepers of the Aquarium

I asked if I should pull the plug on facebook.

I blogged about my daughter and I blogged about my son.

I mean no offense to all of those listed above and each of the events. If you’ve followed me long enough, you know what I am about to say is actually high praise and a compliment…Quite possibly the greatest moment of 2010 for me came one day when my friend Lori Mahon dropped “Welcome To The Masquerade” by Thousand Foot Krutch in the mail to me. I had never heard of them and am now, quite possibly, their biggest fan (“the boy” is a very close second). I’ll probably cover them a few times in reviews to come, but that CD literally ROCKED my year. Still listen to it and all of their stuff regularly. You’re probably thinking “it doesn’t take much” and you’re right. I love me some Thousand Foot Krutch!
