This morning our Pastor wrapped up the “Why Worry” series at Rock City Church. This series, and specifically, this message couldn’t have been more timely for me. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one. With something on the schedule this week that could be considered a possible reason to worry, it was great to get this reminder this morning and put my head and heart where they need to be.
Series: Why Worry?
Title: God cares about my past, present and future.
Scripture: Matthew 6:25-34
- If there is one thing that can eliminate worry in my life, it’s a realistic view of Who God is.
- A.W. Tozer said that what comes to mind when I think about God is the most important thing to me.
- If God is Who He says He is, then what He does and says suddenly matters, a lot.
- My answer to the question, “Who do you say that I am?” will determine the direction of my life.
- Being a Christian is more than merely believing in God; it’s about movement and constant alignment.
- When I move closer to God, He moves closer to me.
- My past prepares me. My present positions me. My future empowers me.
- God accepts me as I am, but He loves me too much to let me stay this way.
We begin a new series next week called “Home for the Holidays”. Can’t wait to prepare for the Christmas season with a weekly reflection leading into Christmas.
