Four years on the road as a touring worship leader eventually took its toll on Jeremy, so in January 2011, the former jr. high youth pastor came on staff as worship community pastor at Bethel Church in Redding, Calif. Working under pastors Brian and Jenn Johnson, Jeremy facilitates a worship community of over 200 people within the church.

“My wife (Katie) and I have always had a heart to serve the local church and never wanted to do the full-time travel thing for very long, so it felt like a good time to transition into something different,” Jeremy says. “I’ve developed such an appreciation for the fruit that has been sowed from my life – personally and artistically – by being part of a local community.”

Though it contained all new worship music, I found myself quickly learning the songs and singing along. The lyrics are heart felt and easily identifiable as coming from a place of worship. I believe we’ll hear some of these songs in churches across the United States very soon. Jeremy Riddle has done an outstanding job and created a CD that will quickly be a hit in the praise and worship community.

“Get In I’m Driving” is a great mix of a wide variety of music. At times I felt like I was listening to something similar to Norah Jones. The soothing vocals that come so easily to Ginny Owens are soft to the ears and easy to listen to. The lyrics and melodies are quick and easy to remember. It’s a nice CD to pop in for a long drive or a day in the office (where I listened to it on repeat several times). “Get In I’m Driving” is available on Tuesday, September 13th. I highly recommend it if you’re in search of something new and different.

I know this song isn’t new but it is BY FAR one of my favorite worship songs. I first heard “Forever Reign” when my wife and I visited Cross Point Church in Nashville, Tennessee the weekend of the half marathon there. Not long after, we began rehearsing it for Journey Church as well. While we have yet to perform it on a Sunday morning, it is one of my favorites to play acoustic on.

I love the lyric in the second chorus that says “You are here, You are here, in Your presence I’m made whole“. It fires me up every time. In case you’ve somehow missed it, I thought I would post it today.
