I have been hit HARD by a little 24 hour virus, so this is the first chance I have had to get back into the matrix a bit. I found this link sometime last week and just had to share it.
Most of you probably know this, but I am color blind. No big deal, it is what it is. Doesn’t really bother me at all. What is funny though is that people often ask me the strangest questions about being color blind. The number one question I get is “So all you see is black and white?”
Help has arrived. There is a web site that has put together a simulation of what colorblind people see vs. actual pictures. It’s pretty neat. Here’s the funny part. Both pictures look the same to me.
I guess their simulation is right on target.

Then how do you know of a tomato is ripe or not? I know the answer, just don’t eat tomatoes.
This is pretty bazar.
for some reason i always thought it be awesome to be color blind… is it awesome or what?
That’s funny Jeremy. It is strange to be sure. My wife says she is excited for me to get to heaven so I can see all of the colors that I missing out on right now. One thing I have learned is to be VERY careful when purchasing clothing that I think is blue. More than once it has turned out to be purple. Not funny.
I have tons of stories about things that have happened, but the best I can say is that it is interesting. One of the biggest things I have to worry about are single, flashing lights. If there is no stop sign with it I usually run it.
dude, thats an easy one… just stop anyway, and if the person behind you lays on their horn, or better yet, slams into your car… then it is yellow.
LOL! That last comment by Jeremy literally made me laugh out loud! 🙂
That website is fascinating! How interesting to be able to see through the eyes of someone who is color blind! I think I agree with your wife though – it will be cool when you get to heaven and see the beautiful color that you’re missing out on! 🙂
Finally, I now know why you wear that Hawaiian shirt with those kickin’ plaid pants to church!!
hey!
Welcome to the red green color blind club! I didn’t find out I was red green color blind until I was doing a vision test for a job application when I was like 20. It sure is nice to be a statistic.
I think it’s high time our culture found a new social outcast to chase around with torches and pitch forks! My vote is that we hunt down all the color blind people… starting with Aaron! YAHAHAHAHAHAH!
