I guess the cat’s out of the bag after my last post. But it’s true, today marks 8 years of marriage for my wife and I. Hard to believe that 8 years has gone by in a blink. Since just about every post I make refers to some song, why should this one be any different? Today’s selection comes from my friends Rascal Flatts. I could swear they wrote the song “God Blessed the Broken Road” for me (since we are such good friends). It is almost as if we sat down, I told them what brought me to today and they put every word of it to music. Since a lot of the regulars are not country music fans, let me give you some samples of what I am talking about. The second verse says “I think about the years I’ve spent just passing through. I’d like to have the time I lost and give it back to you. But you just smile and take my hand. You’ve been there, you understand. It’s all part of a grander plan, that is coming true!” I could post the whole song since it’s so appropriate, but that pretty much says it all. Anything that I might be today, tomorrow, or was yesterday is a credit to my wife and my Loving Savior. One is my rock and one is the rock that I build my life upon. Tim Mcgraw once sang “Girl I know there’s times you must have thought,There aint a line you’ve drawn I haven’t crossed. But you set your mind to see this love on through” She has been patient with me, understanding and compassionate to see this love on through. So to close this post as I started it, I will leave it to Rascal Flatts. “This much I know is true. That God blessed the broken road that led me straight to you”. Happy Anniversary.
