While on my road trip to Pittsburgh yesterday, a driver in a hurry was causing grief for everyone on I-70. You know the kind of driver I am referring to. The fast lane’s not fast enough, so they go to the slow lane, get as far as they can, then have to wait while all the cars in the fast lane he just passed, go passed him again, so he can return to his spot in the fast lane. Then they weave back and forth behind you (and everyone else in front of you) checking to see why we are ONLY going 75 and not 90mph. He ended up squeezing his Lincoln Town car into some spaces big enough for a Geo Metro and cutting several people off to get to the front of the line….including me.
That’s when I saw it, the little fish magnet proudly displayed on the back of his car. Ugh. I couldn’t help but think how I was not the only one that saw that, thought what I did and shook my head. Don’t worry, God was quick to correct me on my thoughts.
Almost as if he was sitting in the back seat, I felt the spirit say “you don’t have to have a little magnet, or WWJD bracelet on to make people question why you are wearing it based on your actions”. I was reminded that my life should really be one big fish magnet. The way I speak, act, think and live my life are a reflection of Him. I can do just as much damage as that car did yesterday to His name (if not more) through my actions. Colossains 3:17 states
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus…”
May everything I do (including behind the wheel) be all in the name of the Lord Jesus.
I randomly came across your blog a year or so ago, and read it now and again for inspiration. It’s been a while, and God led to me it last night. This particular one couldn’t have come at a better time. Thanks for sharing what God puts in your heart. He used this one in a huge way for me yesterday.

A wonderful analogic use of this Bible story, Aaron! The greatest sin is the teaching that we live only the New Testament, for there are tremendous treasures and lessons to learn throughout the Old Testament. As Jesus said, “A wise man brings forth from his treasures both the old and new.”
Your excellent article reminds me of several times in the Old Testament where we learn that God always is preparing the way ahead of us. Since we have no idea what that might entail, we simply must proceed in faith.
Speaking of faith, my ex-daughter in law and her family are being relocated near my daughter in Oregon by the Texas Victims Assistance Unit. After many terrible and delaying events, they finally got on the road day-before-yesterday; stopping for the night about 100 miles down the road. The next morning the U-haul truck, which had only 26,000 miles on it, would not start.
They were in somewhat of a panic, but both my daughter and myself urged them to understand that God’s plan and timing is perfect. There is a reason He wanted them in that spot for another 24 hours. Praise the Lord, they finally were on the road again about noon today. God is sooo good!
