Under the Radar

“be careful what you wish for, cause you just might get it all” – Chris Daughtry

I am the self proclaimed king of “staying off of the radar”. I make it my goal each day to do the very best I can do, while avoiding any potential exposure (good or bad). It would appear that my efforts have earned me a seat smack dab in the cross hairs. Nice…

That lyric from Chris Daughtry is loaded isn’t it? Most know that I have been waiting on a decision from my employer for several months. Well the decision came this week and I’m thrilled to report that I was their guy. This means huge opportunity, huge responsibility and HUGE radar. I think it was Spiderman’s Grandmother that said “with great powers comes great responsibility”.

Truth is that I put this whole process in Gods hands back in July, standing on the beach in Outer Banks, North Carolina. He has directed and guided the entire process. He’s opened the doors and blessed me with this opportunity. Even if it means no longer being under the radar.

All – Thanks so much for the kind words. I admit that this opportunity scares me to death, but I know it’s where God wants me for this season and His greater purpose. I appreaciate the kind words and continued support of my blog!

Well, spill it! What do you get to do? Or is it confidential?

  • Aaron · January 29, 2007

Joni – LOL…It’s a bit hard (and boring) to explain my new role. But the short of it is that I work for a 1.5 Billion Dollar company. In the “Executive Leadership Pecking Order”, I accepted the #6 position (yikes). It’s a newly created position designed to lead the integration of 15 individual business units into one team selling across multiple platforms. I will have my work cut out for me. I am just trusting that the Lord knows what he is doing by making this opportunity happen.

Don’t worry, it’s not confidential. Just figured I would spare everyone the details. :)

Thank you for your post. My heart has been heavy. I have been in the waiting room for quite some time growing, bleeding, reaching, dying, growing, etc. I know that God is preparing me for something great.

He’s given me a glimpse — very similar to what you stated in an earlier post, “All along I have been told “you’re our guy”, “you’re the leading candidate”, “the position is as good as yours” and still we wait. For 6 months, I have lived my life wrapped around two scenarios.”

I’ve passed my six months… and still waiting. And the fact is, just like you…

“be careful what you wish for, cause you just might get it all” – Chris Daughtry

It’s so big — it’s beyond everything I could hope for or imagine in my life. And the thing is… I will need my faith in God even more once it happens.

I know what that wait feels like and it is aweful. Keep your mind set on what is current and let God work out the details. Remember, he might be busy upstream. Thanks for your honest comments. May God work in your life in a might way.
