I drove in some of the worst winter weather I have seen in a while today. I found myself caught in the dreaded “White Out” conditions. On my mind prior to those conditions was Jordan’s pending surgery on Wednesday. At that moment, I found the conditions so appropriate for my thoughts. Our prayers, our fears, our concerns come down to 2 words: Blind Faith.
I knew there was at least one car in front of me on I-70 today. I couldn’t see them, but I knew they were there. All I could see was a sheet of white. Yet I kept on going. I kept my foot on the gas in faith that the person in front of me was in complete control and knew what they were doing. The reality is, had they slammed on their brakes, I would have never had the chance to see it until it was too late. I was putting everything on the line and my faith in a person I’d never met and couldn’t see.
“We live by faith, not by sight” – 2 Corinthians 5:6
One Wednesday, prayer warriors from all over will join as one voice to put their faith in something unseen. We will lift our voices and put our trust in the driver in front of us. The one we have never met and can’t see. With both hands on the wheel, we’ll press the gas and know that the one we follow knows exactly what he is doing. We will live by faith and not by sight. It’s the only way we know how to reach our destination.

You’re right, he’s asking us to believe. I wonder when I’ll ever choose to do it myself. It’s amazing how much I want it, but how easily I fall prey to Satan’s temptations. I’m aching for that consistent blind faith.
Lord, wake me up and lead me on.
Hi Aaron, thanks for the comment on my site and the great video – it was a perfect fit!
I’ll join the countless others in praying for your friend. My work as a pediatric nurse has taught me much about blind faith. I worked in pediatric cancer for my first several years. I have learned to find so much beauty and strength and vivid examples of God at work in the most dire of circumstances. I know God will watch over your friends and that they can find peace in this ordeal and a renewal of faith in their uncertainty. It’s amazing what God can do.
Your support of them through your blog and, I imagine, your life, is just another example of how God’s people can care for each other. God bless you and I pray for you to continue to have the strength to keep holding them up.
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” 1 Pe. 5:7
Powerful post. I will continue praying for your friend.
Aaron, I have been out of town for a few days and just got caught up on all my blogs. I hope and pray everything went ok for Jordan. Yes, sometimes we simply walk by faith.
Blessings
