With all the excitement about my new position, comes some anxiety about 2 things. Number one is being away from my family. Even though a majority of my travel will be one night, it will be an adjustment for me. The second is travel in general. Prior to this adventure, a majority of my travel has been within the state and behind the wheel of my car. Now I’ll be “leavin’ on a jet plane” as they say. Over the next few months I will literally visit all 4 corners of the US, and 4 stops in Canada. Some of those destinations multiple times. It’s going to be an adventure for sure. So what a better song/video to kick this thing off then “Safe and Sound” from my guys at Mercyme. This is a wonderful acoustic performance and the introduction by Nate speaks directly to me. Enjoy.

If you are ever in the Portland Oregon area, our door is always open and you are welcome anytime to join us at our table Aaron! Seriously.
And I’m a pretty good cook 🙂
Just send us an email…
Every blessingto you!
Susan
May the Lord go with you and keep you safe & sound.
Nice song!
-Martin.
I’m happy for you and your promotion, but know how my wife is when I’m going out of town for even a day…it’s not pretty. j/k
I don’t like being away from home at all, but feel like a better man when I’ve worked hard and can come home to my family after all of the work. I pray you’ll feel that sense of thankfulness and contentment that comes from knowing you’ve put your time in and now you can enjoy the fruit of your labor.
Congratulations, Aaron. I’ve had to travel quite a bit over the years and I know how it can disrupt the day-to-day of family life. They never complained when I had to leave.
I remember opening my suitcase and finding notes from my wife, son and daughter. It was a nice way to take a part of them with me and I’ve kept every one of them.
Godspeed on your travels.
Susan – Absolutely! I think the closest I might get is Seattle, but if anything develops in Portland, I will most certainly drop you a line. It would be my honor to meet you and your husband. Thanks for the offer.
Martin – There is real peace in knowing he will keep me safe and sound. 🙂
Cut – Thanks for the well wishes on the promotion. I have a freind who told me something her father once said; “if you can take the paycheck, then you can take the work”. That seems to be a very profound statement and one I remember on my way out the door to another trip. Thanks for supporting and commenting.
Grits – Thank you as well for the congratulations. There is something special about finding those notes, or returning home to a handmade banner from the kids. Makes the miles worth the time away. I still have the ones they made for me as well. Great stuff.
