Dear Mr. Vernon:
We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it is we did wrong, but we think you’re crazy for making us write an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us: in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain, and an athlete, and a basket case, a princess, and a criminal. Does that answer your question?
Sincerely yours,
The Breakfast Club.
*Note: This will be a new feature to my blog. For those of us that just can’t get the 80’s out of our heads.
So, seriously, did we grow up together and not realize it?
I’ll be listening to Don’t You Forget About Me all day now. Carry on.
This is AWESOME! Can’t wait to read more of these.
“What was that ruckus?! What ruckus? I was just in my office and heard a ruckus. Can you describe the ruckus, sir?”
Love all the John Huges movies. I look forward to your “insights”.
Mudpuppy – I think we did man. Last time I checked, there’s a great video on Youtube for that song.
Darrell – Much, much more to come! Roughly 10 years worth 🙂
Mary – Hilarious. John Hughes is a huge part of who I have become I think. So much to post…so little time!
The 80’s! I can feel my mullet growing as I type! Can anyone say parachute pants?
My wife and I love the Breakfast Club. I totally agree with the quote, there is each part of the movie inside each of us. Perhaps one is more dominant, or perhaps the season of life bring out stronger parts at times.
Ryan – So funny on the mullett. I’m guilty as well. Although I had the whole “The Boz” rocking at one point too. Yes, I also had the Bugleboy Parachute Pants! Did anyone have the matching coat?
Steve – So, so, so, so true. I’d love to see a study of the amount of people that can say that Breakfast Club is accurate. I too have felt that at some point, I have spent time in each of those roles. Awesome point. Thanks for coming by. I blogrolled ya!
I think I’m going to enjoy these walks down memory lane. It’s been a while since I’ve seen The Breakfast Club. I think my husband and I need to start having 80’s Date Night and watching those old movies.
