This doesn’t come out until Tuesday, but this will be a MUST BUY for any father with daughters. It’s a beautiful song which will appear on the blog soon. While we wait, here are the lyrics from “Cinderella” by Steven Curtis Chapman from the upcoming release of “This Moment”. You can also hear it at Steven’s Myspace page. Dad’s hold onto your heart strings…and your daughters while you listen to this one.
“Cinderella” by Steven Curtis Chapman
She spins and she sways to whatever song plays
Without a care in the world
and I’m sitting here wearin’ the weight of the world
on my shoulders
It’s been a long day and there’s still work to do
she’s pullin’ at me saying “dad I need you”
There’s a ball at the castle and I’ve been invited
And I need to practice my dancin’
Oh please daddy please.
So I dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
Cause I know something the prince never knew
Oh I dance with Cinderella
I don’t want to miss even one song
Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she’ll be gone.
She says he’s a nice guy and I’ll be impressed
She wants to know if I approve of the dress
She says Dad the prom is just one week away
And I need to practice my dancin’
Oh please Daddy please
So I dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
Cause I know something that prince never knew
Oh I dance with Cinderella
I don’t want to miss even one song
Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she’ll be gone.
She came home today with a ring on her hand
Just glowin’ and tellin’ us all they had planned
She says “Dad the wedding’s just 6 months away”
and I need to practice my dancin’
Oh please daddy please.
So I dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
Cause I know something that prince never knew
Oh I dance with Cinderella
I don’t want to miss even one song
Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she’ll be gone.
How precious and how quickly they grow. If I can figure out how, I am going to post or email you the photos of our daughters recent engagement.
He took her to the beach on their 2 year anniversary of dating and they were writing love notes in the sand to each other.
Then Leslies sees this written in the sand:
WILL YOU MARRY ME???
To which she writes YES!
Mike gets down on his knees there in the cool damp sand, and to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore and the gulls crying as they soar on wings above he pulls out the ring and asks her again.
When she called to tell us I had never heard such joy in her voice.
It blessed my heart beyond words!
Cherish the days with your little ones Aaron. I know that you do 🙂
They fly by so fast!
Oh, and have you heard Plumb’s new song In My Arms?
If not, listen to it. I’m not a big fan of too many female vocalists, but there’s something about this song that touches my heart.
Blessings to you and your family!
