I just wrapped up the 40 Days of Hope in the Max Lucado 3:16 book this morning. It was a very good devotional walk through the life of Christ from cradle to grave and beyond. When I got done, I started thinking and looking for the next daily study I would like to do. After reading “Quiet Strength” and Tony Dungy’s impressions of his study of Nehemiah, I have decided to follow his lead.
So, beginning Monday morning, I am going to start a 19 day walk through the book of Nehemiah. I share the breakdown below for those of you that would like to do the same. I don’t believe I will be posting my thoughts daily, but I’m sure there will be something over the next 19 days that will inspire or convict me. The study will end on the final day in November. Hopefully you’ll share the journey.

Hello, I read a few things you have written on this site, … and I am constantly being amazed at how I keep finding myself lead to ppl and realted places and surroundings of God’s word……*smiles*
And somehow I found myself here just now. Seriously no idea how tho. I was on youtube viewing a few of my favorite Christian rock music videos, then watched a few funny cat video’s and … that’s where it all eludes me…. lol
I think there is something, some reason behind this for me…. or…rather, and myabe… it’s actually IN FRONT of me.. snd being guided TO IT. by these ‘happenings’…*smiles*
anyway, .. I am gratefull either way, whatever the reason of it. I am learning something more and more, little by little, at each new place I find myself, in life, online, and within my heart and with GOD. I want to learn all I can about him, and maybe, stumbling here into your page, and falling into your words, was the drink of faith in helping me along my way… like a thirsty traveler, who stops for a drink to carry him a little further to where he is going…. so thank you for sharing what you believe in and drawing me near……
Thanks for the link on 3:16 – I decided to do a 40 day devotion on that as a preparation for Christmas 🙂
Hey –
If you’re in Nehemiah, a great read is Andy Stanley’s “Visioneering” – it’s about the difference between “Vision” and a “dream” or “desire” .. and follows the story of Nehemiah closely.

Apryl – Thanks for the kind words. I believe there are no coincidences with God. While I am humbled that he directed you here, I’m glad you found something of value. Thanks again for the kind words.
Liza – The 40 day devotional was great in true Max Lucado fashion. He brings the whole thing into great perspective. More than one day I was very challenged by what I read.
Fred – Thanks! I will check that out. Andy Stanley is amazing.
Loved Tony Dungy’s book!! I’m going to try and keep up on the Nehemiah study–it will be an additional for me but I love Nehemiah!!
