I’m still ironing out my playlist for the Dayton Half Marathon on Saturday, but I figured I would give you a taste of a few of the songs that get me ROCKIN when the miles get long and the pace is struggling. Here are four of my “energy songs” that work EVERY time.
“Bring Me To Life” by Thousand Foot Krutch
“Tonight” by TobyMac

“More” by Usher

“Welcome to the Masquerade” by Thousand Foot Krutch
Your Turn: What’s on your playlist?
Couple of my favorites:
“Monster” by Skillet
“Desperate” by Decyfer Down
“Forever” by Chris Brown
Great list. “Forever” is on every running playlist I have too. Love that song. It actually played last night as I was running up Britton Parkway. Luckily it was dark cause I was doing a little dance to it 🙂
I’m the “Crazy running lady” in my neighborhood I’m sure cause I sing and dance and praise during my runs. My arms flare everywhere, there is a skip in my run, and a little jig now and then. LOL
I would be that “crazy bald guy” that does the same in my neighborhood. What can we say? When the inspiration hits you just gotta do what you gotta do! There’s another guy that runs around town shadow boxing while he runs. I always enjoy passing him and wonder what he’s listening to. My guess is it’s LL Cool J “Mama Said Knock You Out” on repeat…but I’m speculating.
Christ is Risen, Matt Maher
One Who Overcomes, Phil Wickham
Are two songs that have been on constant rotation for me lately. I enjoy running to both of them. Songs that start somewhat slow and unsuspecting, but bring it near the end are my favorite to run to. Gives me something to look forward to during the song and makes the miles go by more quickly.
Matt!!! Is this your very first time leaving a comment on the actual blog? If so, way to come out strong. Agreed on starting a bit slow and then building. That’s how a few of those Thousand Foot Krutch are. They start kindof slow and then they are yelling at me, which for some odd reason, I enjoy.
I specifically remember running some 8:10’s to finish the Indy half with that Usher tune and the TobyMac one. That’s why I keep them in the rotation. Brings back great memories for me.
I’ve recently added the Newsboys and Jeremy Camp’s new one to the mix. Crowder always gives me some great inspirational moments too. I’ll check those two out.
Thanks for stopping by!!!
It’s gotta be a pretty important topic, like running music, to get me off the google reader and onto the actual blog. Have a good run this weekend.
I’ll have to post more about running then. I still owe you that Francis Chan disc back. Hopefully I’ll get to it this weekend. Thanks for the well wishes. Something tells me I’m going to need it on this one.
