While the entire world looked forward to Super Bowl Sunday, Journey Church had planned to celebrate what we called “Souper Bowl Sunday”. It’s something we do annually and a time to reflect on the previous year. It is important to note that we don’t do this to brag about all of the great things that Journey Church does or did the previous year. We set time aside to brag on God and give glory and honor to what he has accomplished through simple people that have been available and obedient. I’m not sure how you can reflect on the stories of the prior year and think this was something any of us could imagine, cook up or strategize. Gods fingerprints are everywhere.
One of the most exciting events of the morning was sending off the first church plant from Journey officially. I’m so thrilled for Tom and Vicki and the impact they are going to make on their community and for the Kingdom. Keep them in your prayers if you would. Do so even by name. They are great servants and I’m honored to watch what God will do in and through them.
Set List –
All Who Are Thirsty – Brenton Brown and Glenn Robertson
How was worship where you went to Church?
Well, this Sunday we had an interesting song as the first song of the worship set. Right after announcements. The pastor was going to tie Superbowl related stuff in his sermon, so the first song (with lyrics up on the screen and everything) was “Dropkick me Jesus Through The Goalposts of Life.”
