On Saturday night, “The Boy” and I again had the opportunity to attend a Cleveland Indians game in the Social Media Suite. If you’re not familiar, the Cleveland Indians grabbed the opportunity to be the leader in Social Media for Major League baseball a few years ago. They created a place for fans to attend the game for free while meeting other social media influencers and tweet out pictures and live game action. This was our third year to be asked and it never disappoints. Each year has gotten more special and Saturday night they really raised the bar.

We arrived a little early so we took some time to walk through “Rally Alley” before the game. It was a circus atmosphere with jugglers, clowns, balloon artists and face painting. While we were strolling through, I noticed the familiar face of a magician that had appeared on one of our favorite shows, Shark Tank. We stopped to chat with him for a few minutes and then this happened….

Incredible. I’ve watched that video 100 times and still can’t figure out how he did that. We also got the chance to meet former Cleveland Indian pitching greats Chad Ogea and Mike Jackson. From there we were off to an all-you-can-eat buffet. If you know “The Boy” and I, you know that the words “All-You-Can-Eat” are right in our wheelhouse. We were late to the game because we were still hammering away at the buffet. Honestly.

After we had stuffed ourselves, we joined the other new friends in the suite for the rest of the game. Once again, Chad Ogea and Mike Jackson stopped by the suite. We took the extended opportunity to ask some questions about pitching advice for a 12 year old. Hats off to the Indians, Chad and Mike for being available with their time. Great advice from a former Major League starter and top Closer. It was awesome.

The evening capped off with a fireworks and laser show seen FROM THE VISITORS DUGOUT! It actually started to rain a bit when the show started so we were fortunate to be under the cover of the dugout. I stood there, rain falling, next to my son, looking out at a major league field and couldn’t help but feel complete. Losing a job could be something that sends you reeling. There are a flood of emotions that have happened the last few weeks. Yet here was this absolute gift, to share with the gift of my only son. What a blessing. Thank you Indians. It was a memory we will always have. As we always say in Cleveland….can’t wait until next year!!
