Well here we are. In just 5 days we will make arguably one of the most important decisions for our Nation any of us will ever make. Our vote matters. I will not tell you HOW to vote. I will not tell you how I’ll vote, but I will say we all must vote. Especially in this great state of Ohio. We have the freedom to do so, let’s use it carefully.

For months we have been inundated with social media rants, pictures, thoughts and emotions. Our mailboxes are full of advertisements and our televisions show commercials at every opportunity. We’ve seen the debates and talked over the water cooler. Soon it will be time to make your choice. Do you mind if I make one final appeal? As the sand runs through the hourglass before Tuesday, may I make one simple request? Actually, I’m going to quote scripture and not my own words…..

if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Who isn’t up for a little healing of our land? For months we’ve been told they’ll cut taxes or raise them. They’ve said they’ll care about important issues or won’t. They’ve said they’ll protect certain things or won’t. They’ve flopped back and forth depending on the town or crowd. There have been so many promises and statements, I’m not sure what to believe anymore. The spin has been in full swing and I know I can only trust one moral compass anymore. So I’m going to take what was said in the Word and trust it. I’m going to pray and seek Gods face.

I’m asking that anyone that reads these words would do the same. Over the next 5 days, let’s commit to placing our vote in the hands of the creator. Let’s trust Him at His word. Let’s pray and seek Gods face as a nation. If we’ve ever needed you Lord it’s now….
