About a year and a half ago, I got a wild hair to get a job working nights. Just Hoops Columbus was kind enough to accept my call and give me some hours. Here’s the truth about Just Hoops.
My wife and I are empty nesters now. She spends her evenings serving and in meetings. A year and a half ago, I sat home and did nothing. Then one day I had an idea to reach out to some local sports facilities to work their front desk evenings. My pitch was simple.
- I am not looking to be your Director of anything.
- I don’t want drama or issues, I just want to work your front desk
- I will be on time and will work hard when I am there
I got my first job at a shoe store when I was 14. I understand the idea of working hard. I have been cup bearer to the CEO of a Fortune 500 company. I have been the Director of Operations to a facility very similar to Just Hoops. I know what they need and I felt like I could do that for them.
I got the job.
For a year and a half, I have been blessed to work the front desk at Just Hoops. I have been with their coaches. I have been in their culture. I see how they handle their clients, memberships, and their vision.
The truth about Just Hoops is it is THE place to take your child if they want to learn the game of basketball (classes and clinics), work on their game (court time) and learn from those that have been there and done that.
That is the truth.
My career path is taking me another direction but let there be no mistake in my belief and full support of Just Hoops. It is the greatest culture I have ever been a part of. Their mission, vision and values I fully support and believe in. I am their biggest fan.
