Arms Wide Open

You all know that I’m a pretty big fan of the guys from MercyMe. It is with great excitement that I give you the “heads up” on their upcoming project. Coming in May 2010 is the release of the latest offering called “The Generous Mr. Lovewell“. For a behind the scenes look at the concept behind the new album, check out this video from Bart Millard. The first single from the CD, “All of Creation” dropped on iTunes today. I love the concept, the thought and the movement that we should all “Love Well”. Imagine what could happen if that became our focus and our goal each morning. I look forward to hearing what MercyMe will put together this May.

Okay Columbus, Ohio I need 1000 of you. Here’s the deal. Just got off of the phone with a contact for the film “Lord Save Us From Your Followers” (see previous post for trailer). What we need is a commitment of 1000 people that will fill a seat to see the film to get it in Columbus, Ohio. This does not have to be in one showing. We just need to commit that we have at least 1000 people in this town that would like to see the film. They will run it on a weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and negotiate with a local theater.

If we can put 100,000 people in a stadium to watch a football game, can’t we get 1000 people to watch something that could effect their eternity?

Honestly.

No petitions to sign, no list of names.

If there is one film that I want to see more than any other this fall, it is this one. I am drawn into this trailer and have watched it several times. If the film is anything like the few short moments of this clip, I can only imagine the impact. I read a tweet review from someone that got a screening over the weekend and said it was incredibly powerful. I cannot think of a more timely and appropriate message. From the films website:

The new Jeremy Camp CD, Speaking Louder Than Before,  hits the streets on November 25th! Most of you know I’m a pretty big fan of Jeremy Camp. The first release from the new CD is called “There Will Be a Day”. If you have not heard it yet, I highly recommend going over to iTunes and downloading it. You can also hear it at his web site (HERE). Incredible song. The video below is a behind the music look at what Jeremy was thinking when he wrote it.

Saturday, September 13th is the officail launch date of this years All Pro Dad gatherings at Chick-Fil-a. A big thanks to my friend Tom Minturn for again supporting All Pro Dad. More details coming soon, but mark your calendards Dads (and Moms). We’re kicking off at 8:30am on the 13th.
