14 years ago today, a guy with a receding hairline heard the girl of his dreams say “I do”. That guy never anticipated the way that this girl would be his rock, his biggest cheerleader and the calm in the restlessness that he constantly creates.
She engineers our home
She works miracles with our finances
She shepherds our children’s hearts
She is a change agent to all that meet her
She is quick to listen, slow to anger and puts herself second, third, forth but never first.
Ever.
14 years ago that girl was the object of my affection. Today, she is still that and so much more. Friends often tell me that I “married up” and that I “out-punted my coverage”. They couldn’t be more correct. Don’t think for a moment I don’t realize that. It humbles me each day. I’m a lucky man and I’m not ashamed to admit that. Even 14 years later.
