Heaven Is The Face

I was getting caught up on my reader feeds today and found this article on StereoTruth.net. I have no idea what this song will sound like, but the lyrics are sure to go right to the heart strings. Below are the lyrics (as posted on StereoTruth.net) to the new song by Steven Curtis Chapman. According to their site, it is set to hit the radio November 3rd. Something tells me there was real healing in this for Steven Curtis Chapman. Something also tells me there will be healing for many, many others as well. Heaven Is The Face by Steven … Continue reading Heaven Is The Face

Happy Dance

This song just came on in my home office and caused me to get up and do a little happy dance. You should have seen it. On second thought, be glad you didn’t…. By the way, Darrell Evans has a new CD out. Hope to grab a copy and review soon. Until then, I’m going to hit repeat and “dance like no one is watching” again. Feel free to join along at home. 33 Miles

I have a feeling I am late on the bandwagon here, but I am becoming a big, big fan of the band 33 Miles! They just released their second CD which has the song “One Life to Live” on it. They deliver music that will have you celebrating our position in Christ one minute and moved by the emotion of the journey the next. There are several songs on both of their CD’s that are in constant rotation for me right now in the midst of some healing. My good friend Jen recently asked me who I would compare them … Continue reading 33 Miles

There Will Be A Day

The new Jeremy Camp CD, Speaking Louder Than Before,  hits the streets on November 25th! Most of you know I’m a pretty big fan of Jeremy Camp. The first release from the new CD is called “There Will Be a Day”. If you have not heard it yet, I highly recommend going over to iTunes and downloading it. You can also hear it at his web site (HERE). Incredible song. The video below is a behind the music look at what Jeremy was thinking when he wrote it. Continue reading There Will Be A Day

Coming August 19th

For you fans of MercyMe out there and more specifically their lead singer Bart Millard, here’s some good news. Following the success of his first Hymn collection CD, Bart is releasing a follow up called “Hymned Again“. It hits the streets on August 19th. Bart and I are very close. Okay, maybe not, but he did leave a comment here once.  If you’re reading this Bart, feel free to say hello again! Here is the track list for the new collection: 1. Leaning On The Everlasting Arms 2. Down At The Cross 3. What A Friend We Have In Jesus … Continue reading Coming August 19th

Alive and Transported = FREE!

Like Steve Martin in “The Jerk”, I just went to the mailbox and exclaimed “It’s here! It’s here! The new Toby Mac is here!” Thanks to my friends at EMI CMG and Wired for Sound, I get to share the wealth with 2 lucky people! “The Boy” and I had to arm wrestle to see who got to listen to it first. We compromised. I’m listening to it and he is watching the DVD. That’s right…it came with both! So here’s the contest. Between Now and Next Friday (June 6 – June 13) I will be accept comments to the … Continue reading Alive and Transported = FREE!

New Release Tuesday

iTunes is $9.99 richer today thanks to the release of “Glory Defined: The Best of Building 429“. I am rockin’ it as I type this. There’s something about this band that I really like. Their last CD, “Iris to Iris” is very high on my list as one of the best CD’s of 2007. If you’re a fan of Building 429, this is a nice addition to your collection. If you don’t have any of their CD’s, this would be a great place to start. It’s no surprise that this band is originally from North Carolina (Gods Country). As for … Continue reading New Release Tuesday

The Only Thing That’s Good In Me

Let me begin by thanking Kerri for her recommendation of the new Michael English book “The Prodigal Comes Home” a few weeks ago. I started reading it on Friday and couldn’t put it down until I finished it last night. I am still thinking about it today. It’s not a fairy tale story. I won’t give away details, but I recommend this book to anyone. To those that struggle with addiction, self-doubt, Religion vs. Jesus, failure, doubt and self control…this book is a must read. It’s a story of Gods endless pursuit of our heart and His matchless grace. Michael … Continue reading The Only Thing That’s Good In Me

“Cinderella” by Steven Curtis Chapman

I have been waiting and waiting for the last 2 weeks for a good opportunity to post this song. My buddy Clay gave me one tonight. You see, tonight at 6:30, Clay and his wife Christine entered a whole new dimension. They welcomed a little daughter into this world. This isn’t their first child, but it is their first little girl. Now it starts. Now songs like this one from Steven Curtis Chapman take on a whole new meaning. Congratulations Clay and Christine. Get your dancin’ shoes on. Here’s your long distance dedication! “Cinderella” by Steven Curtis Chapman from the … Continue reading “Cinderella” by Steven Curtis Chapman

The Golden Compass

I have received several emails regarding the upcoming release of a movie called “The Golden Compass” and the controversy surrounding it. Being the way I am wired, I went digging for myself as well. Below are some things I found on the web regarding this film and what makes it so dangerous. From Pluggedinonline.com –QUOTE: “Clergymen who kidnap children. Witches who aren’t wicked. Even a pair of sexually ambiguous angels. If you thought Harry Potter was blasphemous, wait till you get a look at the His Dark Materials trilogy.” —Entertainment Weekly‘s preview commentary on New Line Cinema’s $150 million adaptation … Continue reading The Golden Compass

New Movie Alert

Maybe I have been so wrapped up in the MLB playoffs that I totally missed this one, but I have not seen any promos for the new Ten Commandments computer animated film at all. My son came running in the room this morning to tell us all about it too. My guess is that it was advertised on either Nickelodean or ABC Family as those are his channels of choice in the morning. Below are some links for the movie site, a trailer and a song from the film by Jeremy Camp. If we get out to see it this … Continue reading New Movie Alert

2 Cent Reviews…

I’m calling this segment “2 Cent Reviews” because that’s about what they are worth. However, if you were just dying to know what I thought of some new releases, here you have it. I’ll give a brief thought or two plus my pick for best tracks. So, without further delay… Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds – “Playlist” – First off, I will never forget the Babyface CD “Tender Lover”, but that’s a whole different post. This is a bunch of cover songs from back in the day. The one that caught my attention and led me to download it was “Please come … Continue reading 2 Cent Reviews…

Don't Blink

You just knew I couldn’t let a milestone like my son riding a bike without training wheels go by without some post about them growing up too fast. I was all set to just let it slide by and maybe even deny it a bit. Then I heard the song “Don’t Blink” by Kenny Chesney. I should have known better. It’s certainly not a song for those of us parents that are already dreading how quickly our kids are growing up. If that wasn’t enough, I received an email this morning from someone I highly respect and whose wisdom I … Continue reading Don't Blink
