The Voice of Truth

It’s a Monday…that is for sure! Why is it that one day of the week can seem so much different than all the rest? Monday usually greets you bright and early. It’s almost like he comes over, wakes you up, and reminds you of all the things that you didn’t get done last week, the things you need to get done today, tomorrow, this month, this year and in a lifetime. He follows you to the kitchen reminding you about the sales quota that is hanging over you, the failures of the past week and the ones that are waiting around the corner this week. As if that wasn’t enough, he wakes everyone else in the house up and does the same thing. That not so “still small voice” that seems to disrupt all of the good work that was done on Sunday morning. However, like my biblical hero David, we have a chance to take out Monday with one smooth stone. It is when he is whispering in our ear that we should remind him of the words to “Voice of Truth” by the group “Casting Crowns”. “The voice of truth tells, me a different story. The voice of truth says do not be afraid. The voice of truth says this is for my glory. Out of all the voices calling out to me. I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth.” So guess what Mr. Monday, you won’t get me today. You can try. You will fail. I will choose to dedicate this Monday and every single Monday to listening to the voice of truth. That’s the one that reminds me that no matter what today holds, it will be for His glory and not mine. It will be for His will and not my own. I might fail, but the voice of truth will remind me that I am His and I will grow from what I have learned from failure. Thank God it’s Monday and for the voice of truth!
