As we turn the corner and see the road paved towards the new year, there is a road sign that I have seen for the past 350 something miles (days). It says “Next Exit – Forgiveness”

Having visited “Forgiveness” several times this year, I can promise you this, you will be thankful that you pulled off there. It’s a tough place to find on the map. Truth is it can be a little painful getting there, but oh….you have got to see this place. I have found that the older I get, the more I appreciate visiting. The road of life seems to always find it’s way there. It’s a good thing. I can’t imagine driving this road without at least having the chance to ever see it.

While riding with a friend of mine this year, we stopped by “Forgiveness”. It’s even better when shared between friends. I know I appreciated the time he took to show me around. Luckily the “Mayor” of the city keeps it open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It never sleeps. It really is a must see.

Once you get through forgiveness, there is a beautiful little place called “Grace”. It really doesn’t matter what time of year you visit, it is breathtaking. The scene will leave you speechless and wondering how you could be worthy of visiting such a place. Someone asked me recently to describe “Grace” to them and I had a hard time doing it. I ended up just saying…you have to see it to believe it. It’s like the Grand Canyon, while it is beautiful in pictures, seeing it in person is more than words can say.

The song writer Jim Witter has been there. He once sang a song that said “Sometimes we lose our way. We don’t say things we should say. We hold onto stubborn pride, when we should put it all aside. To waste the time we’re given seems so senseless. When one little word shouldn’t be so hard….Forgiveness”.

How about you? Need to pull off before hitting “Highway 2006″? Trust me, it’s worth seeing before starting your next journey. This is coming from one that has been there, been taken there and will probably need to go back again. Luckily, I know a GREAT navigator.
