Tough Questions…

During my quiet time this morning, I was reflecting on my recent run of good luck. As noted below, I am pretty excited about going to the Final Four. Then, out of nowhere came some pretty tough questions I was not prepared for.

1. If the tickets were to a weekend to hear Billy Graham speak, would I be as excited as I am now?

2. If I had the opportunity to go to Promise Keepers at the RCA dome, would I even go if I knew I would have to drive home in the wee small hours of the morning?

3. If,  I was so moved during the praise and worship time at church, would I stand and cheer as I do when someone hits the winning shot?

4. Why can I stand and cheer without worrying about those around me in an arena, but am afraid to lift my hands in praise in a church where I know everyone?

No sooner was I working on the answers to these questions than the Lord laid the passage from Galatians 6:14 on my heart. “May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.”

Though the questions made me feel a bit uneasy, the answer gave me direction and a reminder of where the only boasting should take place.
