For my quiet time this evening, I thought I would take a few minutes and review The Resurrection as told in all four Gospels. I found the words in Luke 24:5-6 to be the most interesting. According to Luke’s writing, the men (angels) said to them, “why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you while he was still with you in Galilee?”

As I read those words, I couldn’t help but think that over 2000 years later, we are still searching for him there. Don’t you wonder why we look everywhere but the place he said he would be? Just as when he was a child and Joseph and Mary were looking for him, he is saying “Why were you looking for me?…Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?” (Luke 2:49 NIV). He is still where he said he would be and I believe, stronger than ever before, that he will return soon to take us with him (John 14:3). I heard a sermon recently where the pastor said “Folks, his hand is on the door knob and God is about to say go get my people”!

It’s a great truth and one to believe. He keeps his promises and Easter Sunday proves it year after year. He is not here. He has risen!!!      Risen indeed!
