Much Too High a Price

3crosses.jpgMy final post from this week of reflection on Easter Sunday. I wasn’t going to post anything else as I wanted to remember that Sunday is coming. But this song came across iTunes today and was one final reminder…He paid much too high a price. Below are some of the lyrics that hit me hard. May I remember, not only at Easter, to remember the high price.

“You paid much too high a price for me
Your tears, your blood, the pain
To have my soul just stirred at times
Yet never truly changed.
You deserve a fiery love
That won’t ignore your sacrfice
Because you paid, much too high a price.”

“I want to tell this jaded world of love that truly saved my life
A love that paid, so high a price”

I doubt any of us will truly ever understand or appreciate in the remotest sense just what it meant for Him to humble Himself and come to this sinful planet, serve those He created, and then allow them to kill Him in order that they (and we) might have the gift of (eternal) life through His death and Resurrection. We are as guilty as those who lived and walked with Him at that time 2000+ years ago, and who were complicit in allowing His death, yet we as Christians sometimes act as if salvation is our right and we owe Him nothing more than our acceptance of His Gift to us.

I think it’s sad that Easter (and maybe Christmas too) is a time when many non Christians will attend Church thinking that it somehow makes up for their nonattendance the rest of the year, and sadder still that many will leave churches worldwide on Sunday no different to when they walked in – Satan is waging all out war on the world just now, and most of us are oblivious to the seriousness of the situation we’re in, and how little time is left to do His work – may this Easter be a time of changed hearts and attitudes for us all! Blessings, TKR.

I was able to get a hold of the sound trax for this song “much too high a price.” I was able to get it from Bert Kettinger. His web site is click on sound and then you can hear a clip of it on the album “stand in awe” track #7. He has a sound trax available for this song with the demonstration of this song and the performance trax on the same trax. Both are available on the same either on cd or cassette. The cost is $10.00 If you need any other information let me know. e-mail
