I Wanna Go Back!

To quote the great philosopher “Uncle Ricco” from Napoleon Dynamite, “don’t you wish you had a time machine”? Thanks to the Mudpuppy I have spent the entire week listening to 80’s music on XM, Yahoo and my iTunes. I hate to admit it, but the 80’s was great wasn’t it? If you’re still not sure, I have just the cure for you. Below is a little video dedicated to the 80’s. This is in honor of my new feature which we will be seeing more and more of. You’re gonna love this video. This is the best 6:53 you will spend all day. Crank up the speakers, sit back an let’s take a stroll down memory lane.

Love the clips from “Better off Dead” by the way!

This is the first thing that rushed to my mind…

I Wanna Go Back – Eddie Money

I was listening to the radio
I heard a song reminded me of long ago
Back then I thought that things were never gonna change
It used to be that I never had to feel the pain
I know that things will never be the same now

    I wanna go back
And do it all over again
    But I can’t go back I know
    I wanna go back
Cause I’m feeling so much older
    But I can’t go back I know

I recall hanging out on Friday night
    The first slow dance
Hoping that I’ll get it right
Back then I thought I’d never ever stand alone
It used to be that a lonely heart was never shown
I know that things will never be the same

    I wanna go back
And do it all over again
    But I can’t go back I know
    I wanna go back
Cause I’m feeling so much older
    But I can’t go back I know

Even at 1AM that was worth it!! I was just telling my kids that I needed to get some good ol’ classics for them to watch now that they are older. These are def some of them!!

And Billy Idol?! What’s it say when I tell that I actually saw him in concert…a whole different life ago…only the love of all types of music has stayed the same. thank goodness nothing else…but that’s another story πŸ˜‰

Mudpuppy – great song. Perfect for this week for sure.

Rindy – Who knew?!? I never attended one of his concerts, but I think we all wanted his hair (when I had it).

The 80’s were awesome. I got married in ’82, son was born in ’84 and my daughter in ’89. I was also in a great cover band in the 80’s, so I was living the music.

    Good times, good times…

Would you all believe that this little video has uncovered the news that my wife has never seen “Better off Dead”. Look out Blockbuster…here we come. I’m not sure how she ever made it this far without seeing this life changing film. To think that she has never heard these important words:

“See, now that’s a shame when people be throwing away a perfectly good white boy like that”…

When the kids want to dance I turn it to the 80s!!!!! I dressed up like Madonna for Halloween in 1986. I wore punk hair with wild jewelry and a black garbage bag. Hey, that’s what all the gals did!! Thanks for video. I have to show it to Eric.

Sorry, you couldn’t pay me enough to go back. I’m so much cooler now. Except that the term “cooler” is most likely not the way to say it in the 00’s.
