I had the distinct honor of presenting awards to Top Gun team members last night at the awards ceremony with our CEO. The event was a black tie affair and ended with dancing late into the evening. They also announced that next years event will be held at the Westin resort in Cabo San Lucas. I was informed earlier in the week that I “will attend these events every year” as part of my position. So the announcement last night was pretty exciting for Heather and I both.

One of the more memorable moments in the evening came when they gave an award to the wife of one of our team members who lost his battle with cancer this year. I saw her later in the evening dancing, laughing and really enjoying herself. Seeing this man’s wife enjoying the evening reminded me that God can restore our joy, even after the darkest hours.
