Have you been to the sporting goods store “Finish Line” recently? If so, you may have noted that their stock of “throwback” tennis shoes is beyond belief. It was while standing in this store that I found a pair of “Roos“. My mind instantly went back to the pocket on the side and spokesman for the shoes like Walter “sweetness” Payton and Clyde “The Glide” Drexler. While I personally never owned a pair of “Roos”, it doesn’t mean I didn’t want a pair.
How about you? Did you have a pair of “Roos” and if so, what did you keep in that little pocket on the side?
Yeah, I had at least one pair of Roos when I was a kid. I think the only thing I ever put in the pocket was change for the Coke machine, and maybe a paper football. Anything more than that was uncomfortable. Oh, and the change was probably for New Coke 🙂
The paper football could be a random 80’s item too! Do kids still play with those? Great times with nothing more than a sheet of paper. Good call on the “not too much in the pocket”. It was about big enough to hold a dime if I remember. I got that “New Coke” reference too. What a mess that was. Good to hear from you my friend. Hope you’re well in Tennessee!
