The snow keeps coming and the temperature continues to hover in the sub 30’s. Short of a vacation to the Outer Banks of North Carolina (or Chapel Hill for that matter), it can get pretty depressing this time of the year. This week, however, is just what the doctor ordered. I’ve been looking forward to and anticipating this week for quite awhile now. Check this out –

Tuesday night my lovely bride and I are guests at an advanced preview screening of “Soul Surfer“. Based on everything I have seen and heard so far, this will be an incredible film. This will be an impact film. This will be a film that many can rally around much like “The Blind Side”. See the bottom of post of the official film trailer. The film officially launches April 8th. I’ll have a review of our screening soon.

Tuesday also marks the much anticipated release of “Crazy Love” by Hawk Nelson. I’ve been listening to “Crazy Love” for two weeks and can tell you that it’s worth all of the hype. Hawk Nelson have a throwback sound that can connect with a wide audience. The lyrics are challenging yet the music is upbeat and fun. Plan on getting this CD for your collection!

Wednesday – For as long as I can remember, when the Tar Heel Schedule drops each year, there are immediately two dates that I circle. They are my “Super Bowl”. They are my “Michigan vs Ohio State” (for those fans that live here in Columbus). They are my “don’t call, text, email or attempt to contact me after 9:00pm” days. It is round one of Duke and North Carolina and this year promises to be as epic as every other year. What looked like a huge mismatch after the train wreck of last season has gotten very interesting the last 3 weeks. The Heels are rolling, back in the top 25, have won 9 of their last 10, 5 in a row and beat their last three opponents by over 20 points (last of which was the top ranked defense in the ACC). Duke’s loaded but this isn’t last years Tar Heels. I can’t wait to a renew the rivalry.

Thursday – No matter what happens Thursday night (although I feel REAL confident it’s going to be a good night for the Tar Heels), morning brings another day and it’s a GREAT one. “The Boy” and I will hit the road as soon as he gets home from school. We’re headed to Dayton for the “Rock and Roadshow” to see our favorite band, Thousand Foot Krutch. It’s going to be a rocking time together.

This week will be awesome and it couldn’t have come at a better time.
