Four for Friday

Just when I needed some inspiration for “Four (by) For Friday” this week, I heard the roar of the exhaust and my cell phone text message read “Knock, Knock”. Then what to my wondering eyes should appear but my man “D-Rich” in a new truck in my driveway! In order to get his new toy he had to unload his motorcycle, his Jaguar and his old truck. This weeks randomness that is “Four For Friday” is dedicated to D-Rich, his new set of wheels and the memory of his old modes of transportation. He’s that much closer to being a … Continue reading Four for Friday

Four For Friday

This weeks “Four For Friday” has many ulterior motives. The first is just another shameless plug reminder to help me win the “S.L.O.B of the Month” by clicking through to the blog of MercyMe in the link in the sidebar. Secondly I thought I would give my Buddy Bart a shout out for his new CD “Hymned Again” which hits the streets August 19th. Lastly, for those in Ohio, MercyMe will be at Great American Ballpark on Sunday. With that out of the way, I give you this weeks “Four For Friday”. I was going to give you my four … Continue reading Four For Friday

Four For Friday

I can’t believe I almost forgot about the weekly randomness that is Four For Friday! That may tell you the level of stress I was under the past 48 hours. It’s been an absolutely CRAZY week. Missed Reunions, connecting with old friends, surgery, healing, meetings, presentations, meetings, and one other thing…meetings. With all of that in mind, I present this weeks Four For Friday. Have a great weekend. 1. “My Hometown” by Bruce Springsteen – If you ever want to see me go instantly to a memory, put this song on. No matter where I am, no matter what I … Continue reading Four For Friday

Four For Friday

We have a very special “Four For Friday” this week! Those connected on Facebook probably noted that Monday (the 28th) was my Birthday. I love how people ask “do you feel older” on your birthday. The past few years, I have been able to answer that question with a resounding “YES”! In conjuction to my Birthday, you might have noted that I have a pending operation on Monday. Really not a big deal, but it all points to the fact that I am getting older. Matter of fact, the pre-admission nurse that called me the other day kindly said “you … Continue reading Four For Friday

Bonus Cut

I already posted my “Four For Friday” this week. After posting, I couldn’t get this song out of my head. It’s one of my all-time favorites. Many have said that this song holds some deep spiritual meaning. It’s hard to tell exactly what Peter Gabriel was thinking when he wrote “Solsbury Hill“. However he was quoted as saying: “It’s about being prepared to lose what you have for what you might get, or what you are for what you might be. It’s about letting go.” Sounds like it could be the definition of faith. To quote the current State Farm … Continue reading Bonus Cut

Four For Friday..on Thursday.

I have to get these out early this week as I have an “appointment” in the morning and don’t know what tomorrow is going to look like. This weeks Four For Friday are all songs that are not necessarily worship songs, but could be. So often I find that lyrics and music can be an act of worship. I’ve mentioned it several times, but cutting the grass with my iPod is one of my greatest times of thought, prayer, reflection and, in some ways, worship. Here are four songs that were probably never intended to be worship songs, but could … Continue reading Four For Friday..on Thursday.

Four For Friday

It’s that time again! Due to the popularity of a post earlier this week called “True” which featured some classic 80’s music, guess what this weeks Four For Friday is? You got it. Here are four random as usual tunes for this week. Big shout out to Mudpuppy,  JK and Rindy for their confessions of 80’s music lyric memorization syndrome too! 1. “We are the World” by USA for Africa – Heather asked this the other day and I had to admit to it. Did anyone else do “Hands Across America“? C’mon..you can admit it. I did! I stood by … Continue reading Four For Friday

Four For Friday

It’s that time of the week again. This weeks “Four For Friday” happens to fall on the holiday of July 4th! Parades, Fireworks, Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, friends and fun! Maybe even some good old apple pie! What could be better? Here are my VERY Random Four songs this week. Thanks to Mike for contributing last week! Agree 100% on the Casting Crowns song by the way. Was really disappointed in that CD when it first came out but it’s one of my favorites now. Especially after seeing them live. 1. Independence Day by Martina McBride – It’s not exactly about … Continue reading Four For Friday

Four For Friday

Gotta get the post out early this week since “I’m leaving on a jet plane” in the morning for Miami. Thanks to Jenny for participating in last weeks post. Anyone else care to share what is playing in their iPod, stereo or car this week? Without furhter delay, I give you this weeks “Four For Friday” 1. “With You” by Ingram Hill. Most of you are saying “I thought Chris Brown sings that”. You’re right. As much as I like the original I think this unplugged acoustic version by Ingram Hill is great too. 2. “Will I Ever Make it … Continue reading Four For Friday

Four For Friday

New Feature Alert!!! My bloggin’ buddy Jason from that state up north has been doing his Top 5 Songs of The Week for a long time now. This is in no way a copy of that. See, mine is called “Four For Friday” so it’s not an exact copy. It’s like “7 Minute Abs”. These songs have absolutely no deep dark meaning. Basically, I will post 4 songs each week that caused me to hit repeat a time or two. They may or may not be current and with some I’ll post a comment or two. I’d be interested in … Continue reading Four For Friday
